Juliana Aschwanden-Vilaça
Juliana has been drawing since childhood. She was able to use these skills during her architectural studies but then concentrated more on landscape architecture. And afterwards she continued her education in environmental management and achieved a master's degree but somehow neglected drawing. The Urban Sketchers movement has been responsible for rediscovering her passion for sketching and so she finally has also completed a master's degree in illustration. Today she works as an illustrator and hardly never leaves the house without her sketchbook. She is a teacher for Urban Sketching classes at Mitgros Klubschule.

We can create high-contrast colors with black and white images. We will concentrate on how setting highlights, shadows and depth. Workshop 7 (in German): 21. September, 09:30-12:00 Location: will be anounced later Description: How to bring more life into a colored sketch? Watercolours, as well as other colours in general, come into their own better if we define the light, the midtones and the darks clearly. Tonal values help create contrasts and depths on an image. Sketches in black and white allow light and darks on the image to be seen at the most effective. Through fast thumbnail sketches in black and white we will be able to see the identify tonal values in different situations. At the end we will identify a subject and sketch in color with watercolor.
Learning goals:- Create more color contrast with black and white tonal values
- Highlighting the light on the sketch with shadows
- pitch up a stage
- Create depth by applying different tonal values
