From sheer lack of imagination, Laurie Mouret started sketching outside back in 2012 while working a summer job in Italy. From then on, urban sketching became a passion and a relaxing process. She especially likes sketching clusters and people.

In this workshop, we’ll see how to carefully apply lines while accepting “errors” as part of the bigger picture, by sketching in ink directly, and by not erasing lines that do not satisfy us. We’ll focus on observation, drawing one careful line at a time instead of generic overall shapes, building our drawing around a focus point that will have been carefully determined through observation; we’ll also see how to draw people slowly, but steadily.
