Catch dramatic clouds, glittering waves and oily reflections! Painting directly with Chinese ink may take a bit of courage, but once you discover the possibilities it is very satisfying. Don‘t be afraid to get a little dirty and gritty, let‘s mess around and see how we can catch a scene quickly by applying different kinds of loose brushwork. In this workshop we will discover that black ink is not only about strong linework, but also about delicate greys and everything in-between, which can add amazing depth to your sketch.
Material:- Black pigment-based chinese/indian ink
- Brushes should be of medium size or up and soft; they should have a pointed tip, and no water tank brushes please
- A bottle of water and a water container
- Paper tissues
- Paper should handle water well, i.e. not too thin, not too absorbent
